Regional Maintenance Director
Monty Stulc began his career at Shelter Corporation in 1982 as an on-site maintenance technician. Over the past thirty five years, he has progressed to his current position as Regional Maintenance Manager. Mr. Stulc monitors all areas of maintenance for over 3,000 units. Under his leadership, Shelter Corporation successfully designed and implemented a preventative maintenance program, which includes bimonthly site inspections, at all locations. He also initiated the creation of, and now manages, an award-winning roving maintenance team.
Mr. Stulc supervises a maintenance staff of 34 members including three roving maintenance technicians. His responsibilities include construction and contract negotiations and bidding; monitoring maintenance budgets, credit accounts and mileage reimbursement; and organizing training for maintenance and safety issues. He is also in charge of preparing sites for federal, state, city and funder inspections and building audits.
Mr. Stulc holds a Second Class C boilers’ license, EPA certificate, RPZ backflow inspection certificate, a Class E Well Operating License, and is CPO certified. He has experience with a variety of housing programs such as MHOP, Section 8, Tax Credit, POTH, and Market Rate. Additionally, he is trained in Fair Housing practices and is a member of the Green Initiative team.
