Maria Demmer is an accomplished business leader in the multi-housing industry, with over 20 years of progressive experience. Ms. Demmer is a proven revenue producer with honesty and integrity. Maria is responsible for the development and execution of operating budgets, financial forecasting, lease-up for new developments, marketing, maintaining high levels of customer service and working to implement capital improvement plans. Ms. Demmer provides leadership and accountability to the management team and the oversight of operations for a diverse mix of 40 plus communities including market-rate, affordable, senior, multi-family, and government-owned properties. Ms. Demmer ensures efficiency, service, quality and cost effective management of resources. Additional responsibilities include, planning, developing and implementing strategies for generating revenue for the company.
Ms. Demmer has earned a reputation of superior work performance. She has received awards and acknowledgements in multiple areas of Real Estate Management. Her expertise has been featured in articles for the business and employment sections of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, including “A new rental reality” in May of 2003 and “Leasing Agents: It’s a Whole New Job” in January of 2004. She and her team have received numerous community awards such as the 2012 City of Oakdale "Acorn Award" for the Red Oak Preserve community, the 1999 Aurora Award at Sage Company, the Merit Award and 100% Occupancy Award at Pinnacle Management Company, and 2014 Employee of the Year at Shelter Corporation. Maria, her teams and owners are also the recipients of multiple Minnesota Housing Association MADACS Awards including the 2010 Property Excellence Award (Shelter Corporation), 2010 Multi-Site Manager (Shelter Corporation), and 2015 Texas Piece of the Puzzle Award (Shelter Corporation).
In addition to being a member of MHA, The Florida Apartment Association and The Texas Apartment Association, Ms. Demmer served on the MHA MADACS Committee and Strategic Public Relations Committee, she is an Associate of NAHRO, experienced in working with MHFA & HUD, section 42, bond, market rate, section 8, and senior housing. Her specialties include team building, fulfilling occupancy goals, eliminating delinquent assets, excelling in financial growth, troubleshooting distressed assets, marketing and resident retention.
Ms. Demmer studied to obtain her Associates of Science in Law Enforcement at North Hennepin Community College. She received her Mini Masters in Financial Management from The University of St. Thomas and is working on her Mini Master in Business Management.
